Ultimately, the goal of revenue assurance is to maximize the recognition of revenue received. Indeed, revenues received and not accounted for in the G/L are not revenues at all. In this course, we investigate the issue of complex issues associated with revenue recognition.

Each of the major regulatory agencies on the local, national and financial reporting domains (audit standards AND compliance requirements) involve complex and sometimes conflicting rules for how revenue recognition is to be approached and computed.
