Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD)
Distance: 7 miles east of the city.
Shuttle buses are frequent, and there are always taxis available.
Driving in Madrid is dreadful. Streets are always crowded and traffic
can be dangerous. About the only parking is in high-priced garages.
Bus and Metro service is fast and
inexpensive. Taxis are also inexpensive, but be sure that the meter is
turned on when you get in. For trips outside Madrid, Spain has very good
train service.

Madrid
has many lovely parks, of which the foremost is the Parque del Retiro.
Originally the private gardens of King Philip IV, the park consist of
350 acres of formal gardens, fountains, lakes, sculpture, playgrounds,
and outdoor cafes.

El Rastro is one of the best flea markets in Europe. If you like
flea markets, you’ll find bargains here.

Bullfighting is a national passion; if you are interested, you must
visit Las Ventas, the main bull ring. But even if you do not like
this activity, you can visit it (when there are no bullfightings!),
because it is a very nice and traditional building.
There
is so much more! We suggest you visit one of the travel sites
